Acrassicauda (IQ) Prepare To Release Alex Skolnick-Produced Debut EP Via Vice Records

Iraqi metal band Acrassicauda, the band chronicled by the film Heavy Metal In Baghdad, have finally arrived to their new home in Brooklyn, New York, and are struggling to make their dream come true to make music free of persecution. Their new 4 song EP Only The Dead See The End Of War (produced by Alex Skolnick of Testament) offers an early look into this band that lives up to the trials that brought them here.

They had to escape Iraq went on as refugees in Syria before being kicked out to Turkey where they were not allowed to work and faced being pushed back to Iraq (where they would be killed). They couldn’t find a country to take them for months and just before the harrowing departure back to Iraq they finally got one of the rarest things an Iraqi can get- U.S citizenship. Media around the world covered their plight and now we are able to hear the end result.

The new EP “Only the Dead See the End of War” will be released March 9 on Vice Records.
