MADBALL REPLACES DRUMMER WITH EX-CRO-MAGS LEGEND MACKIE JAYSON!!!!!!!
"After six years with the band, drummer Rigg Ross has left Madball. According to the group, "We'd like to wish him all the best for the future, and he will have our love and respect forever."
To replace Ross, Madball has added Mackie Jayson (former Cro-Mags, Bad Brains) to their line-up. He will make his live debut with the band later this month."
When we at WWW.HARDTIMES.CA covered Madball this past winter, Ross informed us that he had been considering a new life outside Madball for a while already. According to Ross, he has been residing happily in Arizona with his girlfriend where he runs a successful contracting company fixing rooftops. We at WWW.HARDTIMES.CA wish him the best and thank him for his contribution to Madball's impeccable discography, notably the N.Y.H.C. EP, and the Legacy and Infiltrate The System full-lengths, and their motivational live performances.
Mackie Jayson, while likely best known for his role in the Cro-Mags' early years and recording the legendary Age Of Quarrel full-length, has also written, recorded, and performed with New York alternative/blues/punk cult favorites Fun Lovin' Criminals, one of the many Cro-Mags NYC/Fearless Vampire Killers reunited lineups in recent years, and other bands still as a session and live drummer.
