Carl Perkin the Rock'n'Roll McLuhan
Well, you can knock me down,
Step in my face,
Slander my name
All over the place.
Do anything that you want to do, but uh-uh,
Honey, lay off of my shoes
Dont you step on my blue suede shoes.
You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes.
You can burn my house,
Steal my car,
Drink my liquor
From an old fruitjar.
Do anything that you want to do, but uh-uh,
Honey, lay off of my shoes
Dont you step on my blue suede shoes.
You can do anything but lay off of my blue suede shoes.

"Sneaker Pimps is the world's largest touring sneaker show featuring over 1000 pairs of rare, limited edition, vintage, celebrity signed, artist-collaborated sneakers and a collection of sneaker inspired artwork, fashion and photography."
Wow now. Am I supposed to be amazed that fucking shoes are touring on "urban museum"? This is undoubtedly the saddest point of evolution in the musical, so-called "underground" scene. Any type of spine that was left in "street art" has been eating up by this joke of a tour. The last few crumbs have been licked clean from the plate.
"Celebrity Signed"! Great, a show where I can bear witness to an autographed running shoe. This is so awesome; a sharpie and a shoe and you've got a show, a collection, an exhibit, this is so fucking sweet. I don't think this will outdo the last show I went to (waiting in line for 4 nights to get the newest game console...that one will be hard to beat) but I'll give it a chance.
"Featuring original artwork by Futura, Stash, About UsDoze, Shepard Fairey, Dave White, Cope2, Ghost, Ewok, JB Classics, Methamphibian, Jor One, SBTG, Kinsey, TechVector, C2, EricQ, Jeremy Fish."
Original atwork that is as incredibly original as the sneakers themselves. This combination is surely a win-win situation. To make matters even better, the artwork by Futura and the rest of them is some of the most original I have ever seen!
"Sneaker Pimps has visited more than 62 cities throughout the globe, visiting countries such as Australia (three times), New Zealand, USA (three times), Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Korea, China, Thailand, Canada, Belgium and The Philippines, making it the world largest cultural street-art lifestyle exhibition."
The world's largest cultural street-art lifestyle exhibit. This has to be legit. You can pay $12 to see this groundbreaking event, or instead, go to Footlocker, Sports Experts or any mall with a sneaker store, and observe the new religion of the illest, truest, most real urban youth: Nike Shoes.
