Anvil at Foufounes

On Sunday night Anvil’s 16-date Canadian tour to support their latest Heavy Metal offering Juggernaut of Justice rolled into Montreal. The evening’s festivities began with the N.W.O.B.H.M-influenced Heavy Metal stylings of Montreal based band Metalian. I thoroughly enjoyed Metalian’s set from their vintage metal sound complete with the lead vocalist’s high-falsetto wails to their guitarist sporting a Hulk Hogan t-shirt onstage to their cover of Judas Priest’s Victim of Changes. I hope to see Metalian again I enjoy that old school N.W.O.B.H.M sounding metal ever so much!

Accept at Club Soda

On Sunday evening Accept’s Blood Of The Nations tour rolled into Montreal with new singer Mark Tornillo and regaled all in attendance with a superb show! Like most people I’m not too keen on “the new singer” and I was dismissive of Mark Tornillo at first, an Udo Dirkschneider free Accept didn’t seem appealing to me. But upon listening to the new album from start to finish I was won over by Mark Tornillo (former T.T Quick frontman) Blood Of The Nations is an utterly exquisite album!

Kalmah at Theatre Plaza

Tag: blog
On Thursday Montreal was favored yet again by the mighty Metal-Gods, the appropriate sacrifices were made to appease them and we were treated to not one but two Heavy Metal shows. Apocalyptica played at Metropolis and Kalmah rocked the shit out of Theatre Plaza! According to my sources both metal-shows completely sold-out, bravo Montreal this city is the Heavy Metal capitol of North America! Despite the Norse winter Goddess Skadi’s best efforts to put a damper on things Montreal’s metal-heads came out in droves to support their favorite headlining metal-bands and their supporting acts.

Cradle of Filth at Metropolis

Tag: blog
My Sunday evenings have been void of entertainment since seasons of The Walking Dead and Dexter ended. Luckily on Sunday night Cradle of Filth’s Creatures From The Black Abyss tour 2011 stopped in at Metropolis to regale all in attendance with an evening of Black Metal. I could have stayed home and watched The Oscars but I find that award show to be dreadfully boring. If they televised The Razzie Awards I’d totally watch that, an award show honoring the worst in film now that sounds like utterly exquisite television program.
